To visit Asa Zoo, Take a bus going to Asahi ga oka, from Hiroshima Station's South Exit. Get off the bus at Asa Zoo Mae (about 50 min). |

Go through the entrance, you are at the Baboon Mountain. The baboons love to play tug-of-war with you.

Cape Hyrax Hyrax is close to elephant biologically. Hyraxes form the herds of about 30 (sometimes up to 80).

African Elephant

The Black Rhinoceros is an endanger species. Only 2,410 black rhinos were reported in 2004.
Asa Zoo has had the special breeding program and 17 babies were born and raised here.
Rhino Terrace is the best spot to observe the rhinos closely.

Big puddle appeared because of the pouring rain. This is a great play yard for the rhino. Wild rhinoceros also do mud bathing, too.

African Buffalo
The African Buffalo live in huge herds in African Savannah. Their main predator is lion.

The Siberian tiger has the largest body among all the tiger subspecies.
The tiger is one of the endangered species. The population in the wild is less than 500 at this moment.
