To visit Asa Zoo,

Take a bus going to Asahi ga oka, from Hiroshima Station's South Exit. Get off the bus at Asa Zoo Mae (about 50 min).

  Go through the entrance, you are at the Baboon Mountain. The baboons love to play tug-of-war with you.

They keep running fast at about 80 km/h for about 1.5 km.

The Black Rhinoceros is an endanger species. Only 2,410 black rhinos were reported in 2004.
Asa Zoo has had the special breeding program and 17 babies were born and raised here.
Rhino Terrace is the best spot to observe the rhinos closely.

Big puddle appeared because of the pouring rain. This is a great play yard for the rhino. Wild rhinoceros also do mud bathing, too.

African Buffalo
The African Buffalo live in huge herds in African Savannah. Their main predator is lion. African Buffalo
  African Buffalo Asa Zoo is one of only two zoos, which rear the African Buffalos in Japan.

The Amur Leopard is a critically endangered species. The wild habitat is along Amur River in Siberia. Only about 30 and a few leopards are reported in the wild.
